A Lucky Girl Turns 22 🦢
A full day's wardrobe for my twenty-second trip around the sun. This year feels softer & slightly romantic. We're leaning into dusty pinks, warm creams, all things silk, and old-fashioned charm. A fondness for little handbags, pretty shoes, and just enough whimsy to make the occasion feel special.
- First Look - A princess deserves her beauty sleep. Even on coronation day. So we're waking up preferably in silk, with absolutely nowhere to be until 11am.
- Look 2 - Birthday brunch with my favorite girls. A little fringe, a lot of meaningless chatter, and a table booked for far longer than necessary.
- Look 3 - An afternoon in Williamsburg, popping into little shops along Bedford Avenue, taking far too many photos, and ending with frozen yogurt. Perhaps a few shopping bags, too.
- Look 4 - A late afternoon wander along Manhattan Beach, collecting seashells, taking polaroids by the water, and catching the last bit of sunlight before changing into something a little more cool for the evening. 🐚
- Look 5 - A little girl dinner in the West Village, followed by jazz somewhere dimly lit. A very good excuse for a swan tiara and 5 inch heels.
- Final Look - An early breakfast with family the next day, something sweet with my coffee, and one last appearance in pink satin before the birthday girl returns to ordinary life.
my wish for you
To my fellow girls turning 22, and to every girl with a birthday around the corner, I hope you make a lovely fuss over yourself. Wear the pretty dress, take far too many pictures, order the extra dessert, and find little reasons to make the ordinary feel special. Whatever age you're turning, you deserve to feel like the princess of the day.
