A.B. ELLIE JEWELRY on Instagram: "Your wedding dress neckline doesn’t always have to dictate whether or not you wear a necklace. It’s more about how the two work together to create interest while maintaining balance. Here’s what works:

• Strapless — it’s the neckline that offers the most styling options. Here the fully open neckline gives a layered necklace plenty of room to become the focus and pull in texture without competing.

• Off-the-shoulder — the wider neckline still leaves space around the necklace, while the draping adds softness around the statement. Together, the necklace and dress are a mirage of movement.

• V-neck — the pendant drop complements the contour of the neckline, subtly echoing the V while the layered pearls add dimension. But if there were detail on the dress here (lace, florals, beading…) then I would skip the necklace completely.

A clean finished dress (silk, satin, crepe…) balances the organic texture + decadence of the pearls without competing with them. Consider the entire dress, not just the neckline, when deciding whether a statement necklace works.
